Official depth confirmed at -2.140m

The depth of Krubera-Voronya has been confirmed at -2.140m. The figure was announced to the Greek Caving community at the 8th Panhellenic Speleological Meeting on 29 October by Kostas Adamopoulos, leader of the Greek expedition to Krubera-Voronya which took part in the CAVEX Team exploration during the summer. Kostas' announcement focused on the lessons learned through participation in such an expedition, not least as regards the cross checking of survey data using independent means.

The SELAS site will soon host the survey in electronic form.
